"About Emma"

Emma L. Halim is an award-winning and best-selling author, songwriter, educator & editor from Australia. It’s also possible she invented spaceships, pavlova and the Frisbee… oh wait. Nope, she didn’t, but she is good at telling stories that grab people’s attention.

Childhood

Emma grew up on a farm in rural Australia. It is here she fed chickens, herded sheep, and suffered more than one motorbike scrape. Emma credits her childhood with her love of nature, animals and bikes without motors!

The Back Story…

As a home educator, Emma has spent the last decade understanding that Muslim parents need more engaging Islamic content for their children, so she’s set about creating it! Her books and songs are often described as ‘quirky’ and ‘fun’ whilst helping children to connect to their Islamic faith. Her upcoming book, ‘We Belong to Allah’, is the whimsical second standalone book in the ‘Don’t Forget to Remember Allah’ catchy song book series. She also plans to launch a book she wrote with her mum after dinner one night, in the coming months inshaAllah! Eeek.

Emma’s entertaining stories, sprinkled with humour, and catchy vocals-only songs, have allowed her the honour to be featured on platforms such as Muslimmatters.org, author panels and school classrooms.

Her first and best-selling book with her brother Stephen – “Ramadan Rocket’ – continues to bring giggles to children across the globe.

Where in the world?

Although from Australia, Emma currently lives and works out of her ‘junk room’ … I mean, home office, in the Middle East, hopping back and forth to ‘the land down under’ to get in her dose of family hugs and crocodile hunting (the latter is just a joke of course … or is it?).

Is she…?

For all those curious, Alhamdulillah yes, she is a revert/convert to Islam (embraced in her university days), yes, she says “Crikey!” and yes, she can throw a boomerang (will it come back? … we’re still waiting).
